Jilocasin and Child (2019)
This stamp print was inspired by the story of Jilocasin, the dragon poet turned widower father from The Book of the Dragon by Ciruelo Cabral. It was made by carving the design into a linoleum rubber block, then spreading blue ink across the block and stamping it onto watercolor paper.
Rain and Snow (2019)
A typography study doubling as a tribute to Mamoru Hosoda’s 2012 film, Wolf Children, my favorite movie about two wolf kids who are named after the weather from the days they were born.
Granted, Yuki is typically associated with pink, though I chose purple to create a closer parallel with Ame's blue.
Design Principles (2023)
Some studies in various design principles from the last graphic design course I took in college. Many of these have color palettes evocative of food like vegetables, burgers, coffee etc. I'm particularly proud of how the red moon and paw bubble designs came out!
Comic Savvy Banners (2023)
Advertisements for the monthly Comic Savvy gatherings at Little Fish Comic Book Studio. Some of these have a seasonal theme while others have a style more evocative of comics and artists such as Jack Kirby.
