Macaron Turtles (2018)

This series was created to show the metamorphosis of an inanimate object into an animal. I remember thinking how a baby sea turtle in its shell reminded me of the compactness of a macaron. I also wanted the final turtle to incorporate the background colors of the other paintings in the series, hence the purple and yellow-orange highlights on the shell.
